Ian Paterson, a disgraced surgeon, is presently serving a 20-year prison sentence for performing unnecessary, life-changing procedures on both men and women.
Coroners in Birmingham are presently investigating the deaths of 650 individuals under his care. However, former patient Debbie Douglas believes the amount might be significantly higher than 650 deaths, as Paterson’s botched ‘cleavage-sparing’ mastectomies left behind breast tissue which risked the reemergence of cancer.
